Sassa War Veterans Grant Means Test

The date of payment will be determined after your grant has been approved. This is where you can find when the next SASSA payment is due (it usually falls on the second or third day of each month).

Depending on your preference, you can receive your War Veterans Grant in one of three ways:

  • Your bank account will be debited directly
  • Cash collected from approved pay points
  • From specific institutions

The Consent Form for Bank Payment of SASSA Grant must be completed and the following documents must be provided if you wish to receive your grant into your bank account: proof of identity (ID/birth certificate/driver license) and proof of your bank account (received from the bank) or three months of bank statements identifying you (name and bank account number).

The new payment method will take effect the following month after you change your payment method at the Welfare office.

Compliance receipts will be sent to you after the review is complete.

The following reasons may cause your grant to be suspended:

Grant Restoration

Within 90 days after receiving a suspension letter, you may apply to have the grant restored if it was suspended for any of the reasons above.
